McKay are currently seeking two experienced Electrical Supervisors to join our team on an exciting solar farm project in Te Aroha. This is a fixed-term contract with immediate starts available

About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of an on-site electrical team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you’ll be a key player in delivering this project on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of electricians and apprentices on site
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical, health, and safety regulations
  • Provide hands-on support and technical guidance where required
  • Conduct regular inspections and ensure quality control
  • Maintain clear communication between the team and project management

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current Electrical Practicing License
  • Proven experience in team supervision within the electrical industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A sound understanding of electrical and health & safety legislation
  • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A current NZ driver's licence
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure

This is a people-focused role, so excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude are essential. While you’ll mostly be supervising, you should also be comfortable jumping on the tools when needed and confident answering technical questions from team members.
