McKay is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our Wellington branch on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting directly to the Wellington Regional Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of electrical projects - ranging from small installations through to large-scale infrastructure developments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in administration who is keen to grow into a more project-focused role.

About the Role:

You will provide essential administrative and coordination support to Project Managers and the Regional Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and processing customer claims, variations, and invoices 
  • Supporting contract administration, procurement, and invoicing activities 
  • Assisting with contract lifecycle tasks as required 
  • Maintaining document registers and managing data uploads 
  • Generating reports and providing project-related insights 
  • Building effective communication channels with internal teams and customers

About You: 

We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused, and eager to contribute to a high-performing team. You will ideally have:

  • Experience with contract claims and invoice preparation 
  • Exposure to job costing and an understanding of project financials 
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes 
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence to ask questions 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 
  • Experience working in a document-controlled environment 
  • Familiarity with project management software (advantageous but not essential)
