McKay are currently seeking a dynamic and energetic Manager to lead our NZDF Marine team located in Devonport.  We are looking for a motivated and strategic leader to drive growth.

To be successful in this role you will be operationally focused and have proven success leading teams to a common goal. You will also be comfortable managing the financials for multiple projects simultaneously.

Some of the aspects of this role are:

  • Provide collaborative and inclusive leadership to the NZDF Marine team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop trusting and long-term relationships with key Stakeholders, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Role model health and safety leadership to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and manage the P&L, budgets and financial performance.
  • Provide career guidance, performance feedback and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven successful experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably in the infrastructure/electrical industry (Marine Industry experience is advantageous). 
  • High levels of emotional intelligence.
  • Highly professional with excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Comfortable communicating at an Executive level.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • A track record of successful business growth through sales and business development (bids and tenders).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business software.
